When it seems like life is standing still, and you don’t seem to be making any progress, MAN, that be frustrating! Right? These times come to us all. We also don’t feel quite right when time seems to fly by and we don’t get a chance to savor the moment. So, the next time you’re stuck in a rut or everything seems to be at a crawl, eat it up. Taste it. Embrace it as a time to slow your butt the heck down, reflect and renew. Each moment is precious and it is all we really, truly own.

Positivity is a great tool for living a life of happiness, so long as it is used properly. Positivity doesn’t mean pretending to be happy when you’re not. Rather, positivity is acknowledging negative feelings and working through them. It is knowing you are human and worthy of having a whole range of emotions. Yes, you. So yell, scream, toss a few angry words if need be. It isn’t a mistake or a failing. See, because real positivity is knowing that it’s going to be okay, even if you’re not okay right now.

In your darkest moments, the antidote might just be to be another’s light. It will brighten your day, too. No, really. You might ask how you can help someone when you don’t even feel like you can help yourself. It doesn’t take much. Maybe just a smile or a kind word… and turning someone’s day around could turn your whole world around.

If you don’t know what you’re supposed to do or don’t feel like you have a clear purpose, that’s okay. In the meanwhile, what can you do with what you have? Ask yourself what is in your power right now. Sometimes, just doing what you can with what you have today — even when we don’t quite have direction, yet — can be meaningful in ways you haven’t yet imagined. Any sense of accomplishment can help make things more clear.

How many compliments can you come up with? Want a cool challenge or game to play with someone? Think of, and maybe write down, 20, 50, or even 100 different words or phrases you can you use to tell someone how loved, appreciated or special they are. Sweet, funny, off-beat… nothing is off the table. Then, also say them to yourself, because YOU are all those things, too.

  • Moment 7-4-21

We are all a work in progress. Even the Universe grows and expands. None of us can know everything there is to know, because there is much, much more out there than we can ever learn in a lifetime. Still, curiosity and a mind like a big sponge that’s open to absorbing, sucking it all up, and changing with new information could very well be one of the highest purposes of consciousness.

Does it seem like sometimes things just fall into place… and other times… well, not only aren’t your ducks in a row, but you’re pretty sure your ducks are off somewhere having a panic attack in a public bathroom off the interstate?
    That’s life for ya.
If there weren’t surprises, rough moments, stressful moments… well, you wouldn’t savor the amazingly epic life stuff quite so much. The tasty little morsels of moments that light up life would be overlooked more easily and the small wins wouldn’t matter as much. And those are, after all, things to be treasured.

  • Moment 7-2-21

So, so, so glad you’re here! Without you, the world couldn’t be playing in tune. There are things you have yet to do. Lives that you have yet to impact in your own special way. Just by being here and seeking your purpose, you make sure everything unfolds in the best way possible. See how that works?

  • Moment 7-1-21

Wow! You’ve come a long way. Of course, when you see something every day (like, your own life), it can be hard to notice gradual differences. It is like living next to the train tracks. After a while, you don’t hear or even notice the train anymore. Same thing with living with yourself. You don’t always see the differences, the improvements, or how what you’ve learned is helping you. So, go ahead and start that thing again. You’re not starting from scratch this time. You’re starting from maturity and experience… and WOW! What a difference that makes!

  • Moment 6-30-21

Reaching out is great. Reaching in? Sometimes that’s even better. Even the earliest philosophers knew that knowing thyself was one of life’s ultimate goals. Really reaching into those subconscious and unconscious drives that move us and being mindful of how we think and feel? Ooooh, that’s deep stuff… but totally do-able and superb for your growing self-love!

  • Moment 6-29-21

You’re doing the best you can. Your best might vary from day to day. And not every day will you rise to the exhausting challenge of your “best” (That sounds like a LOT of work, doesn’t it?). That’s okay. Sometimes just putting on fresh pajamas after your shower will be the biggest thing you did in the day — and sometimes maybe it should be. That doesn’t mean that you aren’t, indeed, doing your best.

  • Moment 6-28-21

Just a flicker. That’s all anyone needs. A moment of clarity. A singular second of unveiled insight. It is in these instants, like the short pause between breaths, that your purpose and passions can become clear. Let your mind wander to those things that make your pulse race just a bit, see it in your mind, and follow it. That thing that makes your heart skip just a bit, no matter how mundane or seemingly momentous, is YOUR thing to chase.
